The Judges Association of R.O.C. (Taiwan) (JAROC), founded in January1995, represents all judges of Taiwan. JAROC is comprised of members from the various courts of Taiwan, including District Courts, High Courts, the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court.
JAROC was admitted as a member to the International Association of Judges (IAJ) at the September 1995 annual meeting held in Tunis (Tunisia). Since then, JAROC has been closely collaborating with other members and participating in the annual meetings.
JAROC is a non-profit organization that safeguards judicial justice and judicial independence, establishes an excellent judicial image, stimulates the judicial reforms, communicates the domestic legal ideas and enhances the judicial exchanges with the international society. In addition, members of JAROC work together to improve the working environment for all judges.
The directors of JAROC are elected by member judges, forming the board for a term of two years. The president of JAROC is elected among the directors. The current president is Mr. Fong-Wei Shen who is currently serving as a bench judge at the Supreme Court. The directors and committee members operate on a voluntary basis, in addition to their judicial role.
On behalf of the JAROC – welcome to Taiwan!
